  1. Focus on Historical Context: This curriculum aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of historical and contemporary issues of race and racism. It often delves into the historical roots of racial inequality and the impact of systemic racism over time.
  2. Incorporation of Diverse Perspectives: An essential element is the inclusion of voices and experiences from marginalized racial and ethnic groups. This helps to broaden students’ understanding of diverse cultural narratives and challenges.
  3. Critical Race Theory (CRT) Influence: CRT is a foundational element, emphasizing the idea that racism is not merely individual prejudice but a systemic issue embedded in laws, policies, and social structures.

BHC Community Groups

The African proverb, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together," encapsulates the essence of teamwork and collaboration.

This wisdom suggests that while individual efforts can lead to quick results, it is the collective strength of a team that enables us to achieve long-term goals and overcome complex challenges with peers close in age and experience.
